Super user The highest user level in Joomla. Members of this group have super user permissions throughout the site. If anything can be done in a Joomla installation, the super user can do it.
API Application programming interface. The published methods for using a set of programs. In Joomla, the API refers to the public methods and fields of all the defined classes, especially ones in the Joomla platform. Because third-party programs rely on the API, it should be changed as infrequently as possible and always with advanced notice.
GPL Stands for General public license. The most widespread such license is the GNU General Public License, GNU GPL or GPL for short. This software license is available in differrent versions and used by Joomla and many other FOSS projects. Joomla is licensed under GPL2 now.
